Arkansas Democrat-Gazette father or mother names Gaines writer

WEHCO Media Inc., the father or mother corporate of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, has appointed govt editor Eliza Hussman Gaines to the submit of writer. Gaines starts on Jan. 1.

With Gaines’ appointment, the management of the paper will stay within the circle of relatives arms.

Outgoing writer Walter Hussman Jr., Gaines’ father, made the announcement Tuesday afternoon. “With a bit of luck the issues that distinguish us as a circle of relatives trade will proceed for a few years when I’m long gone,” Hussman, who will retain the name of chairman of WEHCO Media mentioned.

Prior to now, Gaines served as managing editor and is the primary lady to guide the newsroom and the primary to supervise WEHCO Media’s day-to-day operations.

“We’re a subscription-driven trade and our long term is dependent upon the readers. That is the time to take daring motion, to check out new issues and to be told extra about or readers so we will fit their want and desires.

“Our country is dropping newspapers at a speedy tempo, and I will be able to’t let that occur right here and in our different markets. We all know that towns with no newspaper have extra crime, upper taxes and not more govt transparency. I don’t need that for our communities. Our trade faces demanding situations however I’m assured in our long term.”
